FAQ

WHAT IS SKIN SONIC?

Babe, meet Sonic.

Sonic is the vibrating facial cleanser about to become your bathroom bestie and revolutionise your skincare regime. Better cleansing, effective vibrating massage and stimulation - Sonic is the best time you'll have in the bathroom.

WHAT DOES IT DO?

Thousands of pulsations are channeled through soft silicone touch-points to gently cleanser, exfoliate, remove dead skin-cells and massage your skin to its most luminous and glowing, ever.

Massage stimulates bringing blood-flow circulation and oxygen to your cells, increasing collagen production which effectively slows the ageing process and reducing the appearance of wrinkles.

Skin cells are activated and turn-over more regularly, reducing puffiness and fine-lines, and increasing radiance and natural glow.

Skin Sonic's silicone is nonporous to resist bacteria buildup, making it up to 35x more hygienic than standard sonic-cleansing brushes.

Ultra-gentle deep-cleansing: Smooth, soft silicone touch-points glide across the skin for deep, effective facial-cleansing that's gentle enough to use twice a day.

Smart and travel-friendly Design: Sonic is waterproof, lasts up to 300 uses per full charge and requires no replacement brushes. Sonic Mini lasts up to 100 uses as a vibrating cleanser, and is non-rechargeable.

SAYS WHO?

I'm so glad you asked.

Skin Sonic wants only the very best for your skin, so it's important that you have the information to back it up.

Una Brennan, facialist and founder of Una Brennan skincare says "There is no doubt that electronic devices are effective at deep cleansing the skin. The main issue I have with devices is the difficulty with keeping them hygienic and clean. Regularly changing brush heads can make this method of cleansing high maintenance and expensive. Silicone sonic cleansers are easier to keep scrupulously clean."

Cornell physicist Robert E. Grove, Ph.D, says "any product applied just with fingers doesn’t necessarily get into all of the ridges of the skin" - but the combination of tiny silicone nodules, and vibration sonic technology, reaches every nanometre of your skin and pores, even those hard to reach areas of build up around the nose.

Independent studies found  sonic cleansers gentle and effective. The first is from Clinical-Efficacy-of-a-Novel-Sonic-Infusion-System-for-Periorbital-Rhytides which states the device tested generates “a force powerful enough to unclog pores, but low enough to minimize strain to the skin.”

MEDIA ATTENTION

Skin Sonic is brand new, that is even the media haven't got their hands on it yet. However, similar devices from Korea and Sweden have garnered glowing reviews:

About Foreo's silicone skincare device, Luna™, The Independent says "

new technology cleans the pores and optimises the benefits of the anti-aging and hydrating creams.

We’ve used it as a cleanser by practising a two-minute daily routine and have experienced the benefits of clearer, more radiant skin. However, for the anti-aging benefits you can use with your preferred serum, mask or cream, lower the pulsations, and massage your face for 15 minutes letting the product really sink in."

A review by Metro.co.uk stated "I found that I was spending more time washing my face and taking the time to really work in products rather than being lazy, so I do think the device is handy, even if it’s just in terms of motivating you to do proper skincare.

I wanted to know if it could actually be responsible for improved skin, or if it’s just a cute gimmick designed to dupe the masses, so I went to skincare expert Andy Millward for his thoughts.

Andy uses the professional version in his treatments, and he actually uses it at home too. He says they are definitely more effective in cleaning the skin than using the hands alone. ‘They provide a gentle but effective massage to the skin, boosting micro-circulation and therefore improving oxygen and nutrient supply to the skin, as well as stimulating the lymphatic system,’ Andy explains. ‘A better cleansing regime means less congestion within the skin, allowing for more nourished epidermal cells and a stimulated lymphatic system.
